Save Money While Away for Vacation!

B.51 Summer Savings.jpg

Are you gearing up for an exciting summer getaway? Your summer getaway may have left a dent in the ol’ wallet, but did you know you have an amazing opportunity to save cash while you’re away simply by adjusting your thermostat?  Some believe turning their AC completely off while on vacations is the best option; however, keeping your AC off for an extended amount of time can cause damage to your drywall, wood and wallpaper by allowing the heat and humidity to become trapped. We’re here to tell you there IS another option to save money while you’re away that can be done with a few clicks to your thermostat!

Programmable thermostats are all the rage! The Environmental Protection Agency recommends a setting of 85 degrees Fahrenheit while away from your home for an extended period.  Setting your thermostat to a higher temperature of your preference will allow you to save more energy and money while you’re away enjoying your vacation!  Some may turn their nose to the idea of setting their thermostat higher while away to avoid coming home to a hot house that takes time to cool back down. BUT WAIT! …now days thermostats are extremely sleek and sophisticated allowing you to set the time you will be arriving back home to start cooling the home on command. There is also the option for a smart thermostat which gives you the freedom to control your settings from anywhere at any time from your smartphone.

If you feel like a programmable or smart thermostat would make the perfect addition to your home visit our website or give us a call to discuss installing a new one before you leave for vacation! “If Comfort Is Your Plan, Call the BEL-O MAN!” (618) BEL-OMAN
