The Modern kitchen

2013 kitchen trends are here and we are excited about them! The biggest change comes with the inclusion of new technologies and functionality.

Picture it, you are at a housewarming with all your friends enjoying some wine. Everyone is having a great time and catching up on missed events. Where does all this memorable banter take place? The kitchen of course! It doubles as a bar for pouring wine and living room where your guests converse and enjoy each others company.

Kitchens in 2013 are sleek and functional. They are the main space in your house and require additional durability. After reading numerous different ideas and forecasts of what this years trends will be, function seems to be the key here. Modern kitchens play on a very sterile, clean vibe. However, the functionality that many kitchens are now being built with is a bit cozier than a modern feel, but still maintains clean lines and is aesthetically appealing.

The kitchen island is now an essential part of the room. It offers additional prep space, a space for friends to converse, and bring a focal point to the room. It is more common to see sinks run into the islands as well. People are taking elements from restaurants, clubs, offices, and combining them to create a custom entertaining area.

The technology that is being poured into kitchen design is astounding. Kitchen appliances used to be the standout of the room. Now these appliances are being designed to match cabinets both in color and texture. Clean lines are the key to renovating your kitchen. This will keep your guests feeling comfortable instead of crowded in a kitchen full of knick knacks.
